Frequently Asked Questions About Dog Toys
Find clear answers about materials, durability, sizing, care and the safe use of dog toys.
What makes a dog toy durable?
Durability depends on the materials, stitching, construction and the type of play for which the toy was designed. Some WUFTREK toys use polyester canvas or aramid-fibre reinforcement for more demanding play and training sessions. No dog toy is completely indestructible.
When should I replace my dog's toy?
Inspect it before and after every play session. Remove it if you find open seams, loose pieces, exposed filling, damaged edges or fragments that could break away. Replacement frequency depends on play intensity and your dog's chewing style.
What does aramid fibre do in selected toys?
Aramid fibre is used as reinforcement to improve resistance to wear and tension. It can extend a toy's useful life, but it cannot prevent a powerful chewer from damaging it. Always supervise play.
How do I clean toys reinforced with aramid fibre?
Hand-clean them with warm water and mild soap. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals. Rinse thoroughly and let them air-dry in the shade before returning them to your dog. Inspect the stitching and materials while cleaning.
How do I choose the right toy size for my dog?
The toy should suit your dog's mouth size, strength and play style. It should not be small enough to swallow or so large that it is difficult to grip. Choose according to your dog's individual characteristics, not breed or weight alone.
Do chew toys replace dental cleaning?
No. Friction during play may provide a complementary benefit, but toys do not replace brushing, recommended dental-care products or veterinary check-ups. Do not use a toy with damaged surfaces that could injure the mouth.
What should I do if the toy is damaged or breaks?
Remove it immediately and prevent your dog from continuing to play with it or swallowing any piece. Do not keep using a toy that has lost its shape, exposed filling or loose fragments. If you think your dog swallowed part of a toy, contact a veterinarian.
