BEFORE YOU START

Four keys to getting a useful measurement

Accurate measurements help you avoid choosing by intuition, breed or weight alone—details that do not fully reflect each dog’s body shape.

01

Use a flexible tape

A sewing tape follows the body contour without creating false gaps.

02

Measure while standing

Your dog should stand naturally and relaxed, with weight distributed across all four paws.

03

Don’t pull tight

Rest the tape against the coat without compressing the neck or chest.

04

Check the model

Sizing can vary by design, so always use the chart for the exact model.

COLLAR SIZE CHARTS

Dog Collar Size Guide

Measure the neck where the collar will sit. Do not measure another collar because its total length may not equal the usable neck circumference.

How to Measure Your Dog

Take each measurement twice and write the result in centimeters before checking the product chart.

FOR HARNESSES

Chest circumference and base of neck

  1. Wrap the tape around the widest part of the chest, usually just behind the front legs.
  2. Measure the base of the neck where the front of the harness will sit.
  3. Compare both measurements with the chart for the exact model.

FOR COLLARS

Actual neck circumference

  1. Wrap the tape around the area where the collar normally sits.
  2. Keep the tape level and do not compress the coat.
  3. After fitting the collar, confirm that two fingers fit comfortably underneath.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions before choosing a size

Quick answers for measuring correctly and checking the fit of your dog’s gear.

Can I choose a size using only weight or breed?

No. Weight and breed can be useful references, but dogs of the same breed can have different proportions. Use your dog’s actual measurements and the chart for the exact model.

How do I measure my dog for a harness?

Measure around the widest part of the chest and, when the chart requires it, the base of the neck. Your dog should be standing and the tape should rest against the coat without tightening.

How do I measure the neck for a collar?

Wrap a flexible tape around the area where the collar will sit. Do not measure another collar or compress the coat. After fitting the collar, two fingers should fit between it and the neck.

Are sizes the same across all WUFTREK models?

Not necessarily. Each design has its own structure and adjustment range. Always check the chart for the exact model you want to buy.

What should I do if the measurement falls between two sizes?

Compare the adjustment ranges and model instructions. Do not automatically choose the larger size; anatomy and correct strap position also matter.

Should I measure over the coat?

Yes. Measure your dog as the gear will normally be worn, without compressing the coat or leaving the tape too loose. For long-haired dogs, check the fit again after putting the product on.

How snug should a harness or collar be?

It should stay stable without restricting breathing or movement. Two fingers are a useful general reference, but also make sure the product does not rotate, rub or allow the dog to back out.

When should I measure my dog again?

Measure again if your dog is growing, changes weight, has a major coat change or you are buying a different model. Also check the fit of existing gear periodically.
